When I told my Grandma that people paid to sleep there she said "I can't understand why...the beds were not that comfortable" Just the same though I think I shall go spend a night on this ship sometime in the future.

I can remember as a child when Grandma would have to be taken back to the ship....sometimes my brother and I would be able to walk on board...so I can picture the inside some....having to step up over doorways and meeting the captain.

Then as we drove away with Grandpa...asking him "Grandpa? When is Grandma coming home?" I was one excited grandchild when she retired and would not have to leave us anymore!!:o)

They have Tim Tams at Wal -Mart!!! Only in three flavours though. (plain, dark chocolate and caramel) I am hoping that they will get the double coated ones too! (you can never have too much chocolate on a Tim Tam!)

Proper way to eat: Bite off opposite corners (see pic) and then stick one end in the hot beverage of your choice and suck on the other end like a straw till you have liquid in your mouth. Then shove the whole thing in your mouth quickly because it is about to melt.haha

Trying to get caught up on every ones blogs.......(working on Cheryl's right now)...and somehow ended up on youtube watching videos of an artist that I had never heard before. (Jill McCloghry) and then.....somehow ended up on Jill's blog and loving it! Then.....ended up hearing a song that she wrote that I am playing over and over and over again. It is not however to this game. I am quite competitive...I like having the high score. On facebook I get to compete with any of my friends that decide to waste some of their time playing such games. On this game...I am rarely without the highest score among others. Usually only happens when I don't have time to play. I am good. I get medals and I LOVE all the kewl noises they have....I LOVE beeping and I LOVE the sound of squeaky doors. Especially if I know that it could possibly annoy someone else.hehe (not mischievous at all)

Seriously though...I come by it honestly. In my house where I grew up...we were always trying to get the high score on some game or another. It was not about the game really. It was about being the best at something and getting the recognition. Someone saying "nice score" and playing for hours to try to beat it was a really great feeling.

Now....if only I could be putting such dedication towards some other more important things that I have been procrastinating on.

I did not spend all day trying to catch up on her blog. (and I will not finish that up tomorrow either...there is WAY too much stuff to do for me to do that)

I did not drink all of the broth off of my soup and then plaster way too much butter and salt on the rest of it before eating it. (I would never do that)

I did not talk to my dog as though she understood me all day. (I NEVER do that)

I did not listen to song after song of Brian Adams. (that would not be edifying to my spirit)

I did not have a bath at two o'clock in the afternoon. (there is WAY too much stuff to get done to waste my time relaxing)

Things I am thankful for today...

1. We have a beautiful house
2. Lots of wood to burn this winter
3. Family living near by
4. Lots of friends that are like family
5. My husband loves me despite my quirks
6. My sister loves me despite my quirks
7. My Australia friend is coming to visit! (only 35 more sleeps...but who is counting?)
8. Shyla loves to play with Snickers (no...not the chocolate bar...the dog)
9. God NEVER gives up.
10. God loves my family even more than I do...so even if I don't know where one of them is...He does and is very much interested in his life.
11. I am SO thankful that this list is pouring out of me...without even having to take time to think!:o)

Yummy Chili recipe (thanks to my sister-in-law):o)

6 ounces hot turkey Italian Sausage
2 cups chopped onion
1 cup chopped green bell pepper
8 garlic cloves, minced
1 pound ground sirloin
1 jalapeno pepper, chopped
3 tablespoons tomato paste
2 tablespoons chili powder
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 tablespoon ground cumin
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
2 bay leaves
1 1/4 cups Merlot or other fruity red wine
2 (28-ounce) cans whole tomatoes, undrained and coarsely chopped
2 (15 ounce) cans kidney beans, rinsed and drained
1/2 cup (2 ounces) shredded reduced-fat sharp cheddar cheese

1. Heat a large dutch oven over medium-high heat. Remove casings from sausage. Add sausage, onion, and next 4 ingredients to pan; cook 8 minutes or until sausage and beef are browned, stirring to crumble.

2. Add tomato paste and next 6 ingredients, and cook 1 minute, stirring constantly. Stir in wine, tomatoes, and kidney beans, bring to a boil. Cover, reduce heat, and simmer 1 hour, stirring occasionally.

3. Uncover and cook 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Discard bay leaves. Sprinkle with cheese. Yield: 8 servings (serving size: 1 1/4 cups chili and 1 tablespoon cheese)

The History of Father's Day

Any man can be a Father, but it takes a special person to be called Dad.

The idea for creating a day for children to honor their fathers began in Spokane, Washington. A woman by the name of Sonora Smart Dodd thought of the idea for Father's Day while listening to a Mother's Day sermon in 1909. Having been raised by her father, William Jackson Smart, after her mother died, Sonora wanted her father to know how special he was to her. It was her father that made all the parental sacrifices and was, in the eyes of his daughter, a courageous, selfless, and loving man. Sonora's father was born in June, so she chose to hold the first Father's Day celebration in Spokane, Washington on the 19th of June, 1910.

In 1926, a National Father's Day Committee was formed in New York City. Father's Day was recognized by a Joint Resolution of Congress in 1956. In 1972, President Richard Nixon established a permanent national observance of Father's Day to be held on the third Sunday of June. So Father's Day was born in memory and gratitude by a daughter who thought that her father and all good fathers should be honored with a special day just like we honor our mothers on Mother's Day.

Gift Kids Can Make For Dad

Fill a jar with Hersheys Hugs and Kisses. Take one pair of new sports socks and one pair of gloves (gardening gloves, work gloves, etc.) Tack the socks together toe to toe. This makes a pair of arms. Tack one glove to the the open end of each of the socks. Now you have arms and hands. Wrap the arms and hands around the jar a couple of times, crossing the hands at the front and tack together. Monday and Tuesday I was in Napanee twelve hours each day...standing there holding a sign...stop...slow....stop....slow....stop....slow!

Now...I did do this one other day in another city...which will remain nameless...and the people in Napanee are SO much nicer than the people in the other city were. I felt at times more like I was in a parade as people were smiling and waving at me.

Today is Thursday...and I still have a couple of places that itch like crazy from the blackfly bites! Pesky little things.
